Spring Sumo Showdown (ages 3-5)

Get ready for one of the most fun events of the year! The GRPL HAUS Spring Sumo Showdown is a friendly in-house competition designed especially for our youngest athletes happening on Saturday April 18th at 10:30am.

New this year, we’re expanding the event to include 5-year-olds, giving even more of our Little Grapplers the chance to experience the excitement of competition.

Following a similar format to our previous GRPL HAUS tournaments, this event focuses on simple, exciting matches where kids test their balance, strength, and determination in a safe and supportive environment.

Athletes will compete inside a circle and try to push or pull their opponent out of the ring to score a win. In some of the more advanced divisions, athletes will also be allowed to attempt takedowns to secure victory.

Each matchup will be best 2 out of 3 rounds, giving every athlete multiple chances to compete and learn.

To ensure everyone gets plenty of mat time, the tournament will follow a double elimination format, so every participant will compete multiple times during the event.

To finish the day, we’ll host a special Absolute Mini Championship, where the champions from each age group will face off for the ultimate Little Sumo title.

This event is all about fun, confidence, and giving our youngest students their first taste of friendly competition while cheering each other on as a team.

Come ready to push, pull, and have a blast!

*Registration is non-refundable. Please check your schedule is open at this time before registering to this event.

Grappling Industries Denver

If you’re planning to compete at the Grappling Industries Denver on April 19th, please make sure to complete your registration early through the official Grappling Industries website. For this event, our primary focus will be on our kids from the competition team. This is one of the local tournaments we regularly attend and a good opportunity for our athletes to test their skills, gain experience, and continue building momentum throughout the competition season.

One of the biggest advantages of Grappling Industries events is the round-robin format. Instead of single elimination, athletes are placed into small groups and compete against everyone in their division, which typically guarantees multiple matches for each competitor. This structure allows athletes to get more mat time and adjust between matches while continuing to develop their competition strategy. As always, the goal is to compete hard, learn from every match, and represent the academy with discipline and sportsmanship.

RULES AND POLICIES: https://www.grapplingindustries.com/rules

DIVISIONS: https://www.grapplingindustries.com/divisions

HELP CENTER: https://help.grapplingindustries.com/

FORMAT: The Grappling Industries Round Robin format offers every competitor multiple matches per division regardless of wins and losses. Competitors can get as many as 4 to 6 matches per division! For full information about our world-renowned Round Robin format please visit the following link: https://www.grapplingindustries.com/rules

COMPETITOR LIST: The competitor list will be live updated and viewable in the 'Athletes' tab.

WEIGH-INS: Competitors can weigh in as soon as the event doors open on the day they are competing up until 60 minutes prior to their division start time. Competitors are NOT required to weigh in wearing uniform. Competitors competing in multiple divisions only need to weigh in once. Competitors who fail to weigh-in prior to the 60 minute cutoff or fail to make weight for their division will be disqualified.

BRACKETS AND SCHEDULE: The event’s brackets and schedule will be posted 48 hours prior to the event. They can be found on the event page ‘Schedule’ tab. Event schedules are dynamic and division start times may fluctuate. It is important to monitor the schedule and brackets leading up to and on event day. Brackets may run as much as 1 hour ahead of schedule. To find your up-to-date match times, please see the following link:
https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/90-find-out-your-dynamic-starting-time

MERGERS: Once the registration and change deadline have passed, competitors that are alone in their division will be merged as per our merger guidelines. Competitors with no available merges as indicated by an ‘x’ next to their division name, must contact us at grapplingindustries@gmail.com to explore available options or be issued a credit to a future event if without a match in all of their divisions. Please note that Grappling Industries does not contact competitors directly regarding mergers; it is each competitor’s responsibility to check their brackets and reach out if there are any issues or concerns. By registering for a Grappling Industries event, you acknowledge that mergers may not always be possible and that a credit will be issued in such cases.

CHANGING DIVISIONS AND CANCELLING REGISTRATION: Competitors can edit or cancel their registration up until the event’s change deadline. For more information on how to do this, see the following link: https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/89-how-to-change-weightclass-or-cancel

CAPACITY: Each event has a set capacity limit and registration will close early if capacity is reached. We highly recommend that competitors register as early as possible and do not make any travel arrangements until their registration is finalized.

BEST OVERALL TEAMS and AWARDS: Team standings, points, and medal counts are updated live and are available on the 'Results' tab of the event page. Top teams will receive the largest medal and ribbon in the sport:  The Best Overall Academy for Adults and the Best Overall Academy for Kids.

RANKINGS: We track rankings for both competitors and teams. Competitor rankings are categorized by gender, age, weight, and skill level. Team rankings are categorized by team points and medal count. Our rankings can be filtered at Global, Continental, and National level. You can find the rankings on our website at http://grapplingindustries.com/rankings/

REFUND POLICY: A full refund to your original payment method is available until the Normal Registration deadline. After this date, only a full coupon credit is offered up until the change deadline, regardless of circumstance. After the change deadline, credits are issued only if a competitor has no scheduled matches. Unforeseen circumstances such as withdrawals, no-shows, empty divisions, or schedule changes may occur and do not warrant exceptions to this policy. Travel to the event is at your own discretion, and the organizer is not responsible for any related expenses. By registering, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accept this policy.

NAGA Colorado Springs

If you’re planning to compete at the NAGA Colorado Springs Grappling & BJJ Championship, please complete your registration through the official North American Grappling Association Smoothcomp page ahead of time. The event will take place in Colorado Springs and includes both Gi and No-Gi divisions across multiple age groups, including kids, teens, and adults. NAGA tournaments are large regional events that bring together competitors from many academies across the state, so divisions can fill up quickly and schedules may move throughout the day.

NAGA uses bracket formats designed to guarantee competitors multiple matches whenever possible. Most divisions are structured so that athletes receive at least two matches per division, with formats such as best-of-three for two-person brackets, round-robin for three-person brackets, and additional matches through consolation brackets in larger divisions. This structure gives athletes more mat time and opportunities to compete throughout the day. Our team will treat this as another chance to gain experience, compete hard, and represent the academy with focus and sportsmanship.

Total Vitality Colorado - Exhibition and Give-Away

In the Community: Total Vitality Colorado

Our friends at Total Vitality Colorado will be in the gym during class offering adults in our community info, discounts and a chance to win a special treatment!

About The Exhibitor:
At Total Vitality Colorado, we take a functional medicine approach to help you feel your best. That means we go beyond “normal” lab ranges and look at your bloodwork through a lens of optimal health, as well as focusing on your actual symptoms, so we can uncover what’s really holding you back and truly improve your quality of life. We specialize in hormone optimization therapy and peptide therapy, and also offer aesthetic treatments to get you feeling your best from the inside and out. Whether you’re dealing with low energy, slow recovery, brain fog, or hormone changes, we build a personalized plan to help you perform, recover, and thrive.

  • Advanced Blood Work – We look deeper than standard labs to find what's holding you back.

  • Hormone Optimization – If you struggle with fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight gain, low motivation, low sex drive, poor sleep, mood swings, or slower recovery from exercise, your hormones could be out of balance. We assess testosterone, estrogen, and thyroid levels and tailor a treatment plan for you that restores balance so you can feel clear-headed, energized, and strong again.

  • Peptide Therapy – Peptides are short chains of amino acids (small pieces of protein) that act as messengers in your body. They “tell” your body to repair tissue, build muscle, burn fat, and support healthy aging. Some peptides boost natural growth hormone, helping with recovery, sleep, and energy; others target fat loss, gut healing, or inflammation. This makes them a safe, targeted way to help your body work the way it was designed to.

  • Aesthetic & Wellness Support – We offer a full range of treatments to help you look as good as you feel, including neurotoxin injections (like Botox), dermal fillers, and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. These treatments complement our health-focused programs, helping you feel confident and vibrant inside and out.

FAQs -

Q: Do current Jr. Coaches need to participate in this program to continue Jr. Coaching:
A: Yes - all previously certified Jr. coaches must re-certify. Our new curriculum has been adjusted to reflect our learning in the first cycle. Re-certifying Jr. Coaches will participate in breakout sessions during the schedule hours to extend their learning.

Q: I’m not 9 yet, but I really want to Jr. Coach - will you make an exception
A: If students turn 9 on or before October 1, they are eligible to apply. We encourage students who do not meet this requirement to apply for the next cohort.

Q: I don’t intend to Jr. Coach, but I’m interested in the learning and leadership development component, may I still apply?
A: Yes! While priority will be given to applicants who intend to complete their on-mat practicals, we may accept students who aren’t interested in coaching.

Q: Do I have to coach K1 before I can coach K2 or K3?
A: Successful completion of the Jr. Coaches Clinic opens access to Jr. Coach in K1. Opportunities to Jr. Coach in K2 and K3 classes will be opened on an individual invite-only basis with the completion of at least 15 hours of on-mat practicals in K1.

Q: I can only attend one of the sessions can I still apply?
A: Depending on the number of students who are unable to attend the session dates, we may open a make-up session. There will likely be an additional cost to take a make-up session, so consider the dates carefully. Students may attend only one of the Jr. Coaching clinic dates, but they may not move on to practicals until they have completed the entire 2-session clinic.
